Weekend Roundup

So here we go. Starting and ending weeks with roundup posts? Sounds good to me.

This past weekend was a little more calm that the usual JasonLeahLucy does 8 billion things. Which was a nice change of pace. I had been hearing about how horrible the weather was going to be all weekend so I was ready to couch surf and movie watch and get a lot done on a knitting project. But turns out it didn’t rain at all on Saturday until the evening. So we went to a carters and got some new clothes for little lucille. She had a bunch of 3-6 month clothes from my showers but she’s quickly growing out of them. Well growing out in length not so much around the waist. Which is bringing back a lot of nightmares of pants that were too short in my childhood..like all the time. That or falling down because they were too big. Anyways, I think she’ll be taller than me so she’ll continue to have that to look forward to. I mean seriously…look at these legs:

After the carters we walked home from there. We walked by my old grade school and then walked down Burling street between Willow and Armitage. Now. I guess I have seen mansions in the past but holy shit were the houses on this street huge! Like we saw one and Jason said oh that looks like a church? or a conservatory? and I was like, um…no I think that’s a house.

There was another one that was just ridiculous:

And another that looked like some kind of Italian villa:

I think forward to the day when Jason and I will have a house or even :gasp: a 3 bedroom condo. I can’t even conceive of how much money the people living in these houses must have.

After our walk we thought Lucy might take a nap but that was a no go. She didn’t have a great night sleeping because she didn’t get an afternoon nap in she went to bed at like 6 and then woke up at like 9:30 and was like, hey wait just one cotton picking minute, I’m hungry! So I fed her and the she slept through till about 5. Which was good timing because I was getting up early to run and so I only had to pump one side instead of both.

Dad and I ran early which proved to be difficult and I suspected it would be. I think it’s very hard to switch from running at about 10 to running at 6. We’ll get there though. Just one foot in front of the other. Many times.

After the run we tried to take Lucy out for a walk but it started sprinkling and it was just crappy weather. So we came home and got a nap in instead. Naps after long Sunday runs are by far one of the best things. Lucy coopoerated getting in her own little nap.

Last night was a bit of a disaster. Lucy must be teething because wow was that a lot of hysterics. We again put her down really early. She woke up again around 10ish, but she didn’t seem to need to eat. So Lucy has this little curious george monkey, it might be 6″ long, a really small thing that my Dad and Sue got her at one point. She *loves* to sleep with it. It calms her down because she can squeeze it and kind of play with it and she’ll go back to sleep without needing us. That being said, I’m convinced that she’s goign to suffocate on it and so as soon as she falls asleep I want to take it away from her. So we did that….and it woke her up. And she cried. then we gave it back to her and she hugged it and played with it and right back to bed. So. We ended up leaving it in there with her.

And just now the internet mothers all judged me. That and I’M DRINKING COFFEE AND NURSING. So there.

In all seriousness, this isn’t a blanket or some giant stuffed animal that she could even possibly get into a bad situation with. So I think we’ll leave it in there from now on instead of taking it out of her little teeny hand and waking her up.

So that brings us to Monday. Where I woke up at 4:55 all by myself. And then didn’t get up. I could fucking kill myself. I *have* to get up at 5. And I totally could of today. It doesn’t help that trying to get Jason out of bed can prove impossible at times. But that’s no excuse. I should have gotten up and worked on things on my own.

Big. Sigh. Tomorrow for sure.

I also put up lots of upcoming posts at http://leahcphotos.wordpress.com that will post every morning for the next week and a half or so. The picture I have scheduled for tomorrow is a particular favorite.

So here we go. Hello Monday!

I can see the back of that “villa” when I’m on Halsted! By the way the street is Burling not Belden.
